Parque del Drago is the most impressive attraction in the municipality of Icod de los Vinos. The park is neither the largest nor the most diverse green spot in Tenerife, yet it manages to stand out as a must-see objective for all tourists vacationing on the island. The main reason by force of which Parque del Drago should not be overlooked once in Tenerife refers to the fact the park is home to the oldest Dragon tree (Dracaena Draco Canariensis) specimen on the island, an almost 1,000 years old specimen. The tree is impressive both as to its height and base diameter, and in order to underline these features, other species of smaller tress and cacti have been planted around it.
