Located in San Cristobal de La Laguna, Sanctuary del Cristo holds in great respect a particular work of sacred art, that is, a sculpture depicting a crucified Jesus which has arrived on the island in the early 16th century in view of embellishing the newly erected Convent of San Miguel de las Victorias, and survived a major fire in 1810. Besides this sculpture, another highlight of the Sanctuary refers to the huge patrimony of items made of precious metal and jewels.
