The Teide National Park is, undoubtedly, the most famous nature attraction in Tenerife. Its appeal is enhanced by the Corona Forestal Nature Park, a forested belt surrounding the most prestigious nature park of Spain. The forest stretches on an area of more than 45,000 hectares, and at present it is used to leisure purposes. Indeed, plenty of restaurants and pastime opportunities can be spotted in this park, so the forest is a genuine tourist asset for Tenerife. But besides mainstream tourist leisure, the forest is also home to several endemic species, both floristic and faunal. It is a further embodiment of the idea tourism and nature can cohabit harmoniously without hindering or impairing each other. The Corona Forestal Nature Park is accessible from virtually anywhere in Tenerife due to its considerable dimensions and to the fact it stretches on 17 municipalities.
